Here at Police Kids Books, we are always giving back to Law Enforcement causes, charities, and more. We also recently ventured into collaborating with “Remembering Officer’s Children, R.O.C.K” a non-profit with a mission to bring joy into the lives of young children who have lost their hero in the line of Duty. They do so by hand crafting rocking horses that serve as a remembrance of officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their community.

Here at Police Kids Books, we created a book for children of fallen Officers, and working alongside with R.O.C.K, the goal is to provide every young child of a fallen Officer with a book. 100% of all profits from this book will be going directly back into the cause – donating more books, sending donations to charities and related causes, etc. If you would like to be a part of this mission and give back to the families of a hero that paid the ultimate sacrifice, please read below for details about the books and how to donate.

If you wish to donate to a specific family, please just leave the information in the notes section when completing your purchase on the ROCK website. You can also leave a special personalized note that will be included with the book if you would like.

“Your Daddy will always be your hero, and he will be everyone else’s hero too, because he gave his life protecting others, and that’s what heroes do.”

A story for the children of fallen Officers to honor their hero Daddy who made the ultimate sacrifice. Read through the rhyming story to remind your children how much their Daddy loved them, and how he always will. Allow your children to realize that even though their Daddy is no longer physically here with them, he will always be looking down on them, sending signs to remind them of his love.

We are so thankful for the feedback provided by the Surviving Spouses below, and are eternally thankful for the sacrifice your family made. Thank you to R.O.C.K for running the manuscript by these wives. Also, for relaying to us some things that reminded these spouses of their husbands – things which are incorporated throughout the books, such as a heart in the clouds, fishing, deer, uniform hanging in the closet, a red truck, etc. We hope these small details will bring a smile to your children’s faces when they see them in the book and it reminds them of their hero. Thank you.

“Forever my Daddy, Always a Hero is the perfect book for surviving children. We lost our hero almost a year ago, leaving behind a four year old girl and one year old boy. Having a book like this will help in reminding our babies not only what kind of person their Dad was to everyone, but how much he loved them and how he will never be forgotten.”

-Emelie Nimtz, Wife of Deputy Benjamin Nimtz, Broward Co Sheriff, FL, EOW July 21, 2019

“This book had a smile on my face and tears in my eyes from the moment I saw the title and the Thin Blue Line illustration!! It is beautiful and perfect. I know this is exactly what my husband would tell our little girl if he could. Thank you for writing such a special book that will help our daughter understand that her Daddy is a true hero and that no matter how far away her Daddy is, he is always with her. I know this book will help bring peace and joy to our daughter’s heart for years to come.”

-Catty Totty, Wife of Corporal Shane Totty, Baton Rouge LA Police Department, EOW February 1, 2019

“Wonderfully written book. It takes a concept that is incredibly difficult to explain and makes it more comprehensible for little minds, while also having a positive tone.”

-Brandi Hallman, Wife of Corporal Dale Hallman, Saluda Co SC Sheriff’s Department, EOW April 6, 2018

“Having lost my husband when our daughter was just six months old, this book was perfectly written and describes what you would want your young child to know about their hero Daddy. He will always be with her even if he is watching from above.

-Katie DeRosier, Wife of Deputy Justin DeRosier, Cowlitz County WA Sheriff’s Department, EOW April 14, 2019

“This book kneels down to a child’s level in order to say, “Your Dad was a hero, and you’re going to be okay.” That kind of empowerment is infinitely needed in a world and a climate such as this. Thank you.”

-Michelle Rebman, Wife of SC Trooper Keith Rebman, EOW October 24, 2017
